March has been the longest, strangest month. Tornados devastated Middle Tennessee just a week before we started hearing about the Coronavirus and since then everything has been turned upside down. The only thing giving me some small sense of normalcy is my morning routine so I’ve been clinging to it just waiting for the world to turn upright again, BUT... I’ve also been lacking the motivation to move my body as a result of all the anxiety. I know that’s when I need to move the most though and I’m sure I’m not alone in this so I pulled together a list of workouts you can do from home to help you navigate your new normal. All of these are either free or they offer a free trial and I highly recommend them!

1. Glo

Glo is an online platform and app that offers the best yoga, meditation, and Pilates classes. They give a free 14-day trial after which it’s $18 a month. My husband and I both use Glo and find it’s totally worth the money as the monthly cost is around the same price you’d pay for a single studio class. They have 4200 classes, 52 teachers and 18 styles so there’s something for everybody! They’re also offering nine free classes right now and you don’t have to sign up – just follow this link to access them.

Centr is an online platform and app founded by Chris Hemsworth. Their mission is to help you train, eat and live better with the help of world-class professionals. For workouts, they offer HIIT, boxing, yoga, strength training, MMA and more. They also offer meal plans, guided meditations, and mindfulness tips! You can get a free 6-week trial until March 31 (only one more day!) and after the trial, it’s $29.99 a month.

Nike Run Club is a free app that was essentially designed to track your runs. They offer guided runs with a coach or you can forgo the coach and just use the app to track your statistics like pace, location, distance, elevation, heart rate, mile splits, etc. They also have challenges and plans to help you reach your goals and you can connect with friends to help keep you accountable. There are a lot of extras to look at on the app, but I personally just use it to track the statistics of my runs and it works great!

Yoga International is an online platform and app that offers hundreds of yoga and meditation classes for beginners and advanced yogis that you can take with you anywhere! For a limited time, they’re giving a free 14-day trial and after that, it’s $19.99 a month. I just started one of their courses and I’ve been very immersed in it so I haven’t had a chance to fully explore what they have to offer, but I love it so far!

FitOn was recently recommended to me by a friend and I’m passing on that recommendation to you! It’s an online platform and app that offers a ton of free workouts including cardio, strength, HIIT, yoga, Barre, Pilates, pre and postnatal and so much more. They host 14 live classes every day and they have a lot of programs and challenges to help you reach your fitness goals. They also have a meal plan option, but you do have to pay for that.

Peloton bikes are crazy expensive, but most people don’t know you can access their workouts without the bike! Peloton is an online platform and app that recently extended its free trial to 90 days in light of recent events and they have a ton to offer from yoga, meditation, strength, cycling, running and more. You can cancel anytime or continue your membership for just $12.99 a month after your free trial!

This is where my yoga journey began over two years ago. There’s so much value in Adriene’s YouTube channel it’s incredible she has this much content available for free! There’s everything from five-minute pick-me-ups to full-length yoga classes all led by Adriene. She’s also the founder of Find What Feels Good, which is an online platform and app that gives you access to her full library of yoga and meditation videos for all levels with new videos added every week! They offer a free 7-day trial and after that, it’s $9.99 a month.

Nike Training Club is a free app that provides all kinds of programs and workouts from yoga, bodyweight only, runner warm-ups and cool-downs, strength training, HIIT, and so much more. I love this app because you can sort everything by muscle group, workout type or equipment needed which makes it super easy to find the exact workout you’re looking for. They recently made all the premium workouts free as well so until further notice you’ll have access to over 300 workouts when you create a free account!

9. Obé

Obé is an online platform and app that’s designed to meet you where you are on your fitness journey. They have live and replay classes that are only 28 minutes long as well as 10-minute express classes so it’s perfect for those with busy schedules who need a quick workout! They offer over 4,000 cardio, strength and yoga classes and they give a lot of tips on how to get the most out of your experience with their program. Right now you can get a free 30-day trial and after that, it’s $27 a month.

Alo Moves is an online platform and app that offers a wide range of yoga, fitness and mindfulness classes. I was pleasantly surprised and excited to see they have a section with 40 different skill-based series designed to help you improve things like inversions, arm balances, and flexibility. They also have HIIT, Barre, and Pilates classes as well as strength-based training! You can get a free 14-day trial after which it’s $20 a month. Don’t forget about all the non-traditional forms of exercise as well like dancing in your kitchen, playing with your kids or dogs in the backyard, cleaning your house, gardening, riding your bike around the neighborhood, going for a hike, etc. You don’t have to go to a gym or even lift weights to get your heart rate up and sweat a little bit. You get to define what movement looks like for you – just get moving!
